Tamamon is the monster-taming game of my dreams. I've spent the last four years drawing monsters, designing and implementing game mechanics. I drew every piece of pixel art and wrote every line of code myself. Making Tamamon has been an enormous amount of fun. I love the feeling of combining art, game design and coding to bring a small world to life. I sometimes post development updates on X. Below you can see a selection of my most successful posts.
Development is currently paused, but I plan on coming back to it very soon. Stay tuned!

I am a guy working on the monster taming game of my dreams :) pic.twitter.com/0uL0fKbDZd
It's not much but I added a small munching animation when you feed berries to wild monsters and a sparkle animation after they are done eating to signalize a gain in affection 😇 What do you think?#indiegaming #GodotEngine #pixelart pic.twitter.com/U1HfNAmnIW

A lot of people were wondering after my previous post how Super Smash Bros is an inspiration for my monster taming game: The combat is an interactive turn-based, ring-out-based system where monsters get knocked away further the less HP they have. I hope that helps 🙂 #indiegame pic.twitter.com/Ky6c19kmST

Today I added differently colored taming disks to Tamamon.

They're purely cosmetic, so you can use whichever ones you like best!
The catch rate is influenced only by the berries you feed wild Tamamon beforehand.
I already have a lot of disk designs planned ✨#pixelart #indiedev pic.twitter.com/0eUGMj8fb4
Hi :) Quick Tamamon update ✨ I've added:
— Mario (@MariosMess) October 12, 2025
- a swimming dash 🌊
- a climbing dash 🧗
- hopping of climbable terrain
I hope that this will allow for more interesting and engaging climbing and swimming sections. Please let me know what you think!#indiegame #pixelart pic.twitter.com/IhUquLROvD
It always annoyed me how items would simply hop on water like on a hard surface so I added some simple buoyancy physics. Does the effect look convincing enough for now? Please let me know! :)#indiegame #pixelart pic.twitter.com/jkn52kULtv
